The Revington

The City of Worcester is perhaps the best known of the Massachusetts “gateway cities” —those formerly vibrant, 19th century urban areas where manufacturing jobs have gradually disappeared and new economic investment has been slow to take hold. In Worcester, however, changes such as the arrival of the Boston Red Sox minor league baseball team have begun to signal a shift in the city’s future prospects. Developer Madison WG Holdings’ proposed mixed-use campus abuts Polar Park, home to the “Woo Sox,” and The Revington is the first of two residential properties planned for this site.

For most multifamily projects, KMA is hired by a project architect or the developer. But for The Revington, the team was hired directly by Plumb House, the general contractor. Though KMA had worked previously with the architects on other projects, Plumb House wanted to leverage the team’s expertise to improve their quality control process. Through a comprehensive review of the construction drawings and multiple construction walks, the team helped the contractor deliver a fully compliant project to the owner without costly accessibility-related change orders.
