Solimine House

Aging in place is a high priority in today’s housing market. 2Life embodies these concerns by supporting seniors so they can live with purpose and joy in housing they can afford, surrounded by the integrated services they need, and in an interconnected, nurturing community. As a leader in the senior housing industry, 2Life currently has over 1,500 senior housing units in five different communities. KMA is honored to have supported 2Life’s work and vision for over a decade, serving as accessibility and aging-in-place consultants for renovations on their seven largest buildings.

In recent years, 2Life has turned their attention to the development of new projects in new communities, and KMA has continued to support this work. Prior to embarking on this new phase, 2Life enlisted KMA’s help in developing organization-wide aging-in-place principles to guide all new construction. These principles are now being implemented by several different architectural firms on the design of four new 2Life buildings, all supported by KMA. The latest project, Solimine House, will deliver over 150 affordable units in a mixed-use building with a daycare, office space, and a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) center—a national care program that helps older adults with complex care needs avoid nursing homes and instead receive the care they need in their own community.
