J George

(they, them)
Associate

J joined KMA as a part-time Access Planner in 2017 and was promoted to Associate in 2020. J is primarily responsible for higher education and K-12 projects. Their versatility and experience allow them to work on a range of other assignments, including commercial due diligence, ADA Self-Evaluation & Transition Plans for municipalities and airports, and projects involving user experts. J’s passion for inclusive design shows in both their client work and their contributions to fostering KMA’s inclusive culture.

A graduate of Boston University, J went on to earn a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College (BAC). While enrolled at the BAC but before joining KMA, J completed a project for the Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) cataloging best-practice examples in Universal Design. As their experience in inclusive design has increased, J has had the opportunity to serve as co-chair of the BSA Access Committee and to return to their alma mater as an instructor for a course in Universal Design.

Amid the chaotic joy of parenting, J enjoys playing video games, drawing with their daughter, knitting, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with their partner and friends.
