Juan Gómez Velásquez

(he, him)
Access Planner

Juan joined KMA as an Access Planner in 2023 after graduating from architecture school, where he studied with Managing Principal Josh Safdie. Juan performs multifamily plan reviews and construction walks, and he supports higher education accessibility planning projects through existing-conditions audits and analysis.

Before deciding to pursue his passion for architecture, Juan completed an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at Universidad de America in his home city of Bogotá, Colombia. After moving to the United States, he earned his Master of Architecture from Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, where his thesis focused on affordable senior housing.

Outside his work at KMA, Juan enjoys the thrill of rock climbing and hiking, and he channels his creative drive into painting, sketching, and photography.
