Mark joined KMA in 2023 as an Access Planner specializing in ADA compliance for commercial due diligence, ADA Self-Evaluation & Transition Plans, and landscape design. He brings an unusual skill set to KMA, having worked previously in the fields of landscape architecture and occupational therapy.
After earning a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Mark spent several years as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in rural West Virginia. His career next led him back to New York State, where he completed a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Ithaca College. In KMA, Mark saw a unique opportunity to combine his passion for service and design with his newly-acquired expertise in human functioning. Mark provides an important connection to the wider field of landscape architecture for the firm as a Co-founder of the Neuroscapes Design Collective, a grassroots initiative aiming to advance dialogue on the intersections of landscape and urban design with neurodiversity and sensory sensitivity.
When he’s not sharing his knowledge with KMA’s clients and staff, Mark enjoys camping, backpacking, fishing, and cross-country skiing.
