Tejal joined KMA as an Architect in 2018 and was promoted to Senior Architect in 2024. She is an important part of KMA’s design leadership, focusing primarily on accessibility-related renovations for commercial, educational, and multifamily clients. Tejal also supports KMA’s multifamily consulting work by performing plan reviews and construction site walks for accessibility compliance.
After finishing a Bachelor of Architecture at the Sir J.J. College of Architecture in Mumbai, India, Tejal moved to the US and earned a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University. Her early architectural career was spent in the residential, higher ed, commercial, and public works sectors, where she gained valuable experience in design and construction. She credits her lived experiences – such as navigating Cambridge with a double stroller after having twins and growing up in India where she lived among dramatically different standards and styles of living – for influencing her passion for accessibility and inclusive design. Tejal believes that accessible design can be both functional and beautiful, a philosophy she champions in all her projects by educating clients and others about inclusive design whenever possible.
Outside of work, Tejal enjoys painting, juggling, and driving, showcasing the same creativity and dexterity she brings to the office.
